Radiological Technologist

      Currently-employed radiological technologists in Macau are mainly produced as the result of two academic pathways: former Macau Health Bureau Health Technology School graduates and foreign Diagnostic Radiography bachelor degree graduates with a total number of 43 who are working across the private and public sectors in Macau.

Public radiological technologists:

-  Macau health technology school offered two periods of courses:  Students were Macau permanent residents,

   high school graduated in science, obtaining a diploma after three years of courses related to Diagnostic

   Radiography, eventually a Diagnostic Radiography bachelor degree was granted after one and a half years

   supplementary courses in Macau Polytechnic Institute.  They are officially recognized in Macau as Tecnico

   Superior de Saude, i.e. T.S.S.- Occasional recruitment exams (written examination and interview) will be held for

   the overseas-trained Diagnostic Radiography bachelor graduates according to the Human Resources of Macau

   Health Bureau; and in accordance with No. 23/2011 (Recruitment, selection and promotion training of civil

   servants); No. 12/2012 Administrative regulations (Practice related to the duty of Tecnico Superior de Saude);

   and Law No. 6/2010 (Occupational system of Pharmacist and Tecnico Superior de Saude).  Following a one-

   year practical training, the qualification of Tecnico Superior de Saude will be granted to those candidates who

   passed the practical exam.

Private radiological technologists:

-  Since there is no official unified licensing system in Macau, professional qualifications and assessments of the

   candidates are made by the private sectors themselves.
