Currently-employed
radiological technologists in Macau are mainly produced as the result of two academic
pathways: former Macau Health Bureau Health Technology School graduates and
foreign Diagnostic Radiography bachelor degree graduates with a total number of 43 who are working across the private and public sectors in Macau.
Public
radiological technologists:
- Macau
health technology school offered two periods of courses: Students were Macau permanent residents,
high school graduated in science, obtaining a diploma after three years of courses
related to Diagnostic
Radiography, eventually a Diagnostic Radiography bachelor
degree was granted after one and a half years
supplementary courses in Macau
Polytechnic Institute. They are officially
recognized in Macau as Tecnico
Superior de Saude, i.e. T.S.S.- Occasional
recruitment exams (written examination and interview) will be held for
the overseas-trained
Diagnostic Radiography bachelor graduates according to the Human Resources of
Macau
Health Bureau; and in accordance with No. 23/2011 (Recruitment, selection
and promotion training of civil
servants); No. 12/2012 Administrative regulations
(Practice related to the duty of Tecnico Superior de Saude);
and Law No. 6/2010
(Occupational system of Pharmacist and Tecnico Superior de Saude). Following a one-
year practical training, the qualification
of Tecnico Superior de Saude will be granted to those candidates who
passed the
practical exam.
Private
radiological technologists:
- Since
there is no official unified licensing system in Macau, professional
qualifications and assessments of the
candidates are made by the private
sectors themselves.
